This Electrical Engineer position is organizationally located in the Utlities Product Line of the Public Works Business Line within Public Works Department Kitsap.
You must be a US Citizen. Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal & Regulatory Guidance. Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation. Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period. You must obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Leads the deployment of processes to maintain the quality of electrical utlities and services
Conducts technical reviews and recommendations for electrical engineering studies.
Coordinates technical requirements with utility providers for utility contracting
Evaluates economic impacts of various electrical utility alternatives on the economy

Basic Requirements : Successfully completed a full four-year professional engineering curriculum leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in engineering from an accredited college or university that has an engineering curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). OR Successfully completed a full four-year professional engineering curriculum leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in engineering in an accredited college or university. The curriculum included differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. OR Registered professional engineer in the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, or any State in the U.S. The registration is based on a written examination given by the State Board. NOTE: You must provide a copy of your registration with your application. OR Registered professional engineer in the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, or any state in the US, and my registration was achieved by means other than written test (e.g., State grandfather or eminence provisions), and my registration is in a specialty field within or closely related to the specialty of this position. NOTE: You must provide a copy of your registration with your application .OR successfully passed the Engineer-in-Training (EIT) examination and completed all the requirements for a bachelor's degree in engineering technology (BET) from an accredited college or university that included 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences (to receive credit, the specialty field of the BET program must be within or closely related to the specialty of this position. You must also submit documentation that you passed the EIT examination with your application). OR Completed, at an accredited college or university, at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences that included courses as described in B above, and are acceptable toward a degree in professional engineering. OR Successfully completed a four-year curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in engineering technology or an appropriate professional field such as physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology. My work experience includes one or more years of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. NOTE: IF YOU SELECT THIS OPTION, YOUR RESUME MUST REFLECT SUCH EXPERIENCE AND YOU MUST ALSO COMPLETE THE NARRATIVE RESPONSE BELOW. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY DISQUALIFY YOU FOR THIS POSITION. OR Completed my engineering degree at a foreign college or university and the courses have been accepted for advanced credit in engineering by an accredited college or university in, or an organization recognized for specializing in the evaluation of foreign education has stated that my education is equivalent and included courses as described in B above, and are acceptable toward a degree in professional engineering. I will submit proof of this acceptance or evaluation with my application. AND
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:Providing professional engineering concepts, principles and methods to formulate advice on planning, designing, and system standards covering electrical utility systems program/projects
This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) and requires additional education, training and experience. Applicants should meet the DAWIA Certification requirements for the Facilities Engineering and be certified at the Level II at the time of application. Work requires the employee to drive a vehicle. A valid state driver's license is required.
Work requires occasional overnight travel away from the normal duty station. Traval includes other NAVFAC installations or remote sites. Travel by military and commercial aircraft may be required.
Employee must be able to obtain and maintain in good standing a Government issued Travel Card for official Government travel purposes. In instances where a Travel Card cannonot be obtained the incumbent must be willing and able to use a personal credit card for travel purposes and follow appropriate procedures for reimbursement of authorized official travel expenses.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
